Barrie Collegiate Redevelopment

On the site of the former Barrie Collegiate secondary school, HIP Developments worked with City officials and the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka to revitalize this key downtown site. Through an exchange of properties, the City obtained a parcel to use as a park and theatre auditorium. The YMCA found space for a new 80,000 sq. ft. facility complete with a swimming pool, gym, daycare centre, and supporting spaces and HIP proposed a total of 600 residential units distributed over three high-rise buildings as well as a five-storey parking structure.
