Rubina Khan

B.ARCH
Intern Architect / Designer

Rubina Khan joins Martin Simmons Sweers with a range of international experience and a diverse skill set. With a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a minor in Interior Design, Rubina’s work included collaborations with innovative tech-based startups in modular cabinetry and closet design and she's also a former Assistant Professor at an architectural school in India. Rubina’s journey into architecture was inspired by her childhood love for the video game The Sims, where she delighted in building and designing virtual homes. This passion for creating and transforming spaces led her to pursue a career in architecture and design, bringing her playful creativity into the professional realm. Rubina’s superpower lies in her rich multicultural background, having lived in the Middle East, India, the U.S., and now Canada, providing her with a diverse perspective that brings fresh, innovative ideas to client visions. Rubina is eager to contribute to impactful designs and be a part of our continued commitment to heritage revitalization. Outside of work, Rubina is passionate about travel and architecture sightseeing, often organizing family trips around iconic architectural sites. She also dedicates her time to volunteering with organizations such as the Coalition of Muslim Women-KW and Habitat for Humanity, advocating for and supporting her community.

“I believe the willingness to adapt to something new will make or break your future in the industry, as technology and the way we work has been evolving rapidly.”
